we have investigated this issue, and it’s certainly a bug you have found.

External links are passed through special engine which tries to adapt the non-mobile content for visitor’s device to achieve at least some level of optimized mobile experience, but currently there’s problem with recognizing 3GP videos properly.

We’ll try to fix this soon.

“strange things” is not easiest description to work with trying to identify the problem ;)

linking to files shouldn’t require special treatment, just use “http://target.website.com/file/location/file.3gp”

as we mentioned in other forums posts, it will work only if visitor’s device supports displaying linked media (some may show it in browser, some may open media player, and some will simply not show it, or give error message).
