I tried to set up a number using your Call Link option, but when I put in phone number as you require, then go online and click on Call link, your program puts an 01 in front of number. Needless to say, the call won’t connect.

I’m in the U.S.A., and the format I used is +1231231234. (There are no dashes, just numbers per your requirement.) Also, I can’t remove the + sign.

I can enter the number on the page without using the Call Link option and it will dial correctly. So I figure it’s something with your configuration that is automatically entering the prefix 01.

Please advise,
Bruce

This is phone dependant. There is number of phones that do not support this. Also some of them – as you pointed out – can recognize the number enetered directly in text. Also I do not think Ubik adds any ‘01’ to the number.

What phone model(s) you tried?

The + sign is necessary so the number is recognized properly all over the World.

I test it on a blackberry 8350. it will recognize #’s entered as text with no problem.

If I create a call link, and when I click on it with my blackberry, it will put the ‘01’ in front of number, then I get a message that int’l phone #’s are not supported on my service. I didn’t do anything to do initiate the ‘01’.

The resolution has been found. All the numbers entered into the Call Link must have the country code after the + sign. That is for US for example the format “+1XXXXXXXX” has to be used, for UK “+44XXXXXXX” etc. This solves the issues and works for 99% of devices and operators.
